Charles Mazzola
Principal
Charles founded FMA in partnership with David Forde in 1991. Charles is a primary liasion for all of our clients and provides field oversight for all FMA projects. He works closely with the entire project team – owner, owner’s representative, architect, designers, subcontractors and project managers. He works closely with the field construction team to ensure that all projects receive the benefit of his experience in implementing cost-effective construction means and methods, and guidance on quality control and execution.
Charles has extensive experience as a field construction manager and builder in several construction industries, including high-end residential, multi-family, multi-use, hospitality and commercial. Charles is a Licensed General Contractor.
David Forde
Principal
David founded FMA in partnership with Charles Mazzola in 1991. David provides general oversight for all FMA projects. He manages the cost control and schedule systems that make FMA unique and provides expert leadership to the project team. David also handles contractual, legal, financial, and insurance issues.
David brings his experience in corporate senior management on projects up to $75,000,000. He is a Licensed General Contractor and Licensed Civil Engineer. David has a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in structural engineering and construction management.
Aaron Bortolazzo
Field Construction Manager
Aaron provides field oversight for all FMA projects on the peninsula. He’s the primary contact for the owner and owner’s representative; attends weekly team meetings; develops, monitors and updates the construction schedule; monitors and controls costs; and reviews and approves owner billings. Aaron prepares the preliminary construction budget and works with the project team and various consultants to address value-engineering issues as required to develop project details that are feasible and cost effective. He visits the jobsite on a daily basis to track progress and quality of work. He proactively and aggressively flags and tracks all time-sensitive and critical path items with the entire project team to ensure that decisions are made in a timely manner.
Aaron has more than 35 years of experience in high-end residential construction and has been with FMA since 1994. Aaron is a Licensed General Contractor.
Robert Chang
Project Manager
Robert provides construction management for FMA projects. He’s responsible for: developing construction budgets; preparation of subcontractor bid packages; analysis of bid results; evaluation and distribution of updated construction documents; working with the project team to monitor, update and distribute the construction schedule; coordination of subcontractor and vendor submittals; researching, writing and submitting RFI’s; evaluation and handling of budget changes; reviewing invoices; closing out the project.
Robert has over 20 years of experience in high-end residential construction in the Bay Area. He is a Licensed General Contractor and a Certified Green Building Professional (CGBP). Robert has a Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in structural engineering and construction management.
Art Quadraccia
Project Manager
Art provides construction management for FMA. He’s responsible for the preparation, maintenance and distribution of project documents that include budgets, change orders, schedules, RFI’s and submittals. He works with the architect and designer to track and distribute construction drawings; works with the project team to monitor and update the construction schedule; coordinates with subcontractors and material suppliers; and conducts weekly project team meetings onsite.
Art has decades of experience in the construction industry as a Carpenter Foreman, a Construction Superintendent, and a Project Manager. Art has a Master’s degree in Economics.
